After being eliminated in the 2021 MLB playoffs mainly because their offense was not competitive, the Milwaukee Brewers‘ 2022 lineup looks much more productive.
The Brewers are tied for first in MLB in runs scored, with 128 so far (before Friday’s games).
A big reason behind their success is first baseman Rowdy Tellez.
The hulking slugger is having a terrific year at the plate, slashing .275/.341/.625 with seven home runs, 22 RBI, and an incredible .966 OPS.
Over his last three games, however, his performance has been absolutely top-notch.

In his last three games, Tellez has three home runs, ten RBI, six extra-base hits, and a 1.733 OPS.
Tellez Is Hitting Like A Future Player Of The Week In The NL
He will likely win the National League Player of the Week award on Monday: it would be a travesty if he doesn’t.
He is virtually carrying the Brewers offense, although other hitters such as Willy Adames, Luis Urias, and even Christian Yelich are on fire.
We had already seen flashes of what Tellez is capable of doing with regular playing time last year.
He has a .786 career OPS: not star-level, but definitely above-average.
Now that he is healthy and getting lots of at-bats in Milwaukee, this could be the year in which he morphs into a consistent slugger rather than a player that only produces in spurts.
If they are serious about winning the NL Central division again, and they are, the Brewers will surely hope Tellez can maintain his current level of production, or at least something close to it.
He is absolutely locked in at the plate right now, and is helping Milwaukee build a 2.5-game lead in the division.
