The Colorado Rockies are about to start a new MLB season: Opening Day, for them, will be on Friday.
They will have a guest star throwing the first pitch: it’s new Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.
“Russ is coming home for Opening Day,” the Rockies’ Twitter account wrote on Wednesday afternoon, quoting a video posted by the Broncos’ account.

In the short clip, Wilson is seen hyping fans about his presence at Coors Field, saying that he will be there on Friday and he may take his glove with him.
The game will feature Kyle Freeland on the mound for the Rockies, who will go against Los Angeles Dodgers star Walker Buehler.
Wilson Will Throw The First Pitch
Neither of those two talented pitchers will throw the first pitch, though, because that honor will go to Wilson.
Wilson is not only a football player: he played three seasons of Division I baseball, and his rights are owned by the New York Yankees.
Of course, he won’t pursue a career in baseball, as he is a legitimate star at what he does, which is being a quarterback in the NFL, but he has attended a few Yankees’ spring training camps over the last few years.
Wilson didn’t have his best season with the Seattle Seahawks in 2021, but he was good nonetheless: with a 25/6 TD/INT ratio and 3,113 passing yards, he showed that he still has a few years of quality play in the tank, which is why the Broncos sent fellow signal-caller Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive tackle Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick to the Seahawks for him.
It should be a fun day at Coors Field on Friday.
