Tuesday night was a very special night, as the All-Star Game took place.
The best of the best from the American League and National League squared off to determine which league truly had the most elite talent.
In the end, the National League emerged victorious for the first time since 2012.
The tide turned in the eighth inning with the American League ahead, 2-1, when Colorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz stepped to the plate.
The Rockies catcher hit a two-run homer to put the NL ahead, where they would stay.
That was enough to earn Diaz All-Star Game MVP honors.
After the game, the Rockies tweeted a couple of photos showing Diaz holding his souvenir.

The souvenir in question was a bat which serves as the MVP trophy.
The photos show Diaz kissing the bat and hoisting it proudly in the air following his clutch home run that ultimately was the deciding factor in this year’s Midsummer Classic.
The American League was just six outs shy of their 10th consecutive All-Star Game victory.
But Diaz snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for the National League and delivered in the clutch.
As a result, the Rockies catcher earned himself a nice piece of hardware to add to his collection.
Diaz certainly earned his major award, and the NL earned a much-needed All-Star victory.
The NL had won the All-Star Game in three consecutive seasons from 2010-12 before the AL went on their run of nine straight victories.
But thanks to Diaz, the NL pulled out the win and the Rockies catcher earned a special honor.
