The Houston Rockets have one of the most promising rosters in the NBA, but that hasn’t translated into many wins thus far.
Multiple people have questioned Stephen Silas’ ability to lead this team going forward, as there has been little-to-no team development in the past couple of years.
In fact, veteran Eric Gordon claimed that there had been no improvement from Silas’ first year in charge until now, raising the alarms of a potential uprise within the locker room.
So, the Rockets could make the most of a team going in a similar path as of late.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Nick Nurse’s days in charge of the Toronto Raptors might be coming to an end after this season, as there have been reports of discontent between the players and the championship-winning game coach.
That’s why Rockets insider Paulo Alves took to Twitter to urge the front office to make a run at Nurse if he — indeed — became available.
"Nick Nurse’s future as Raptors head coach is expected to come into focus this summer, when he will be entering the final year
There’s been frustration with the team’s play at points, and that has been directed toward Nurse at times" – @ShamsCharania

Nurse was a quick riser in the NBA’s top-coach hierarchy.
He’s worked his way up and has proven to be a master at making adjustments and maximizing the talent he’s been given, as well as developing not-so-known players.
That bodes perfectly for a Rockets team with a lot of talent but zero team basketball, an iso-heavy offense, and a defense that takes way too many plays off.
With Jabari Smith Jr., Jalen Green, TyTy Washington, Alperen Sengun, Josh Christopher, Tari Eason, and another top-3 pick, the sky would be the limit for the Nick Nurse Rockets.
