As expected, the New York Jets were one of the most active teams in the early days of free agency.
The team traded for and signed some offensive line help.
They also added more pieces to their already scary defense, capping it all off with Mike Williams.
Nonetheless, HC Robert Saleh knows this won’t mean a thing unless the team is able to get the job done on the field.
Talking about the team’s expectations ahead of the upcoming campaign, Saleh bluntly stated that it’s not about winning the offseason but about winning actual football games (via Jets Videos).
“Winning offseasons doesn’t matter. We’ve got to win football games,” Saleh said.

Saleh knows a thing or two about overselling a season, and that’s not a mistake he’s going to make again.
The Jets were the most talked-about team in the league last offseason, and their Super Bowl aspirations lasted about four offensive snaps.
Granted, no one can prevent an injury like the one Aaron Rodgers suffered, and they shouldn’t be blamed for it.
However, the team refused to address their backup quarterback situation when they had a chance to do so, and that was a disservice to their elite defense and faithful fanbase.
They’ve taken care of that issue as well in the offseason, and it seems like they’ve dealt with most of their needs.
On top of that, they could add another offensive lineman or a potential star TE like Brock Bowers with the No. 10 selection.
Then again, just like NBA legend Scottie Pippen said, “don’t mean a thing without the ring.”
