The New York Jets have made a few intriguing moves this offseason.
The most notable was trading for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
He was sent to the Jets for a package of draft picks, and now Rodgers begins his first season in a new city.
You can bet things will be very strange for Rodgers as he spent the first 18 years of his career as a Packer.
But, to make the transition more smooth, the Jets brought in some of Rodgers’ old friends.
It almost seemed as if Rodgers had a “wishlist” of players that he wanted the Jets to sign.
But, head coach Robert Saleh dismissed that.
According to SNY, Saleh called the wishlist narrative “silly.”

Saleh mentioned how it is common for players or coaches in new places to surround themselves with players they are familiar with.
For instance, Saleh brought in Solomon Thomas, D.J. Reed, Quan Alexander, and others who were familiar with his defense.
Also, it was similar to how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Rob Gronkowski after bringing in Tom Brady.
Some players are just comfortable playing with teammates they know.
Now Rodgers has a great supporting cast around him and an offensive coordinator that he worked with in Green Bay.
It should not take long for Rodgers to adjust because the Jets did such a good job catering their roster to him.
So while the wishlist narrative may be “silly,” it should play a key role in Rodgers’ play in 2023.
