Not many NBA players have been surrounded by as many legends as Robert Horry.
Big Shot Bob, one of the clutchest and winningest role players in the history of the league, had the chance to play with and against some of the greatest to ever do it.
Moreover, he knows a thing or two about elite big men, as he played with Shaquille O’Neal on the Los Angeles Lakers and Tim Duncan on the San Antonio Spurs.
However, if you were to ask him, he’d choose Hakeem Olajuwon from his days with the Houston Rockets as the all-time greatest big.

In his recent appearance on the All The Smoke podcast, Horry made a case for Hakeem being the best center ever, praising his footwork, skill set, and résumé.
Truth be told, it’s hard to argue that Olajuwon might as well have been the best center ever, or at least the most talented of all time.
Hakeem was so good that you’d never see or hear a Rockets fan criticize their team for taking him over Michael Jordan in the NBA Draft.
Hakeem had one of the greatest careers in NBA history, cementing himself as the most dominant defensive force in the league while also torching his rivals on the offensive end of the floor.
Up to this day, his footwork continues to be the standard for elite big men and post players, and not many people have ever been able to come close to him as a rim protector either.
