The Washington Commanders have found their golden ticket in rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, a player who’s been turning heads since his arrival.
As the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Daniels has been the franchise-changing quarterback the team has desperately sought since Robert Griffin III’s era ended.
The former quarterback hasn’t been shy about Daniels’ impact and recently made a bold proclamation.
“Jayden Daniels just had the greatest rookie year for a quarterback ever,” Griffin said on X.
Jayden Daniels is the Greatest Rookie QB EVER and has made Washington a place free agents want to come and play now. D.C. STANDUP!!!

Griffin continued in his praise of the likely Offensive Rookie of the Year.
“Most of all, Jayden Daniels has restored the pride of the fan base in this team. The Washington Commanders’ name and brand have never shined brighter, and it’s never sold more merch than it did during this year’s playoffs,” Griffin said.
Daniels collected an astounding 11 Rookie of the Week awards, but the overall results tell an even more impressive story.
He led the Commanders to their first playoff win in 19 years and their first NFC Championship Game in 33 years.
He set NFL rookie records for most total yards, most wins, passing yards, rushing yards, completions, completion percentage, passer rating and playoff games started.
The 24-year-old has transformed the Commanders from a struggling franchise to a team that may be a hot destination for free agents this offseason.
There’s no doubt Daniels entered the NFL with every attribute teams dream of in a quarterback: talent, leadership and an uncanny ability to rise to the moment.
With his electrifying play and record-shattering performance, Daniels did not just meet expectations, he obliterated them.
