Legendary and former NFL head coach Bill Belichick is now the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.
However, recently, a rumor circulated that he had contacted the New York Jets about potentially coaching them in 2025.
One of his old players, former All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, believes that rumor is false.
“I think it was just to kinda stir up the plot…I don’t think he’d ever go to the Jets to be a head coach,” Gronkowski said Wednesday via Up & Adams.

It would have been interesting if Bill Belichick had wanted to coach the Jets.
Imagine Belichick and Aaron Rodgers teaming up to try and bring the Jets a championship.
Belichick was the former defensive coordinator of the Jets from 1997 to 1999 before becoming the head coach of the New England Patriots, and the rest is history.
It will certainly be fascinating to see how the eight-time Super Bowl champion does at the college level.
The 72-year-old spent nearly 50 years coaching in the NFL before taking this season off and likely will need time to adjust to life as a head coach in Chapel Hill.
He will have to recruit and form strong relationships with college-aged kids instead of NFL veterans.
But if his track record in the NFL is any indication, it might be unwise to doubt the future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
