This offseason could be filled with plenty of upheaval for the New York Jets after their experiment with quarterback Aaron Rodgers has gone south.
With a 4-10 record this season, they are on their way toward a high pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Rodgers could end up moving on and joining another team.
But one of the first things on the Jets’ to-do list will be hiring a head coach after they fired Robert Saleh and replaced him with Jeff Ulbrich earlier this season.
There is one candidate that the franchise reportedly has at the top of its list.
“Multiple NFL sources believe that Mike Vrabel is the coaching candidate that ‘the Jets covet the most,’ per SNY’s Connor Hughes,” Jets Videos wrote on X.

Now that Bill Belichick has agreed to be the head coach at the University of North Carolina, Vrabel is likely the most coveted coaching candidate in the entire NFL.
In six seasons as head coach of the Tennessee Titans, he arguably got the most out of an incomplete roster that featured running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver A.J. Brown but little else.
His starting quarterback for most of his time there was Ryan Tannehill, who was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 but was otherwise never more than solid.
That was the season Vrabel guided Tennessee to the AFC Championship Game after upsetting the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round.
New York has plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, but it needs the right leader on the sidelines to put it all together, whether Rodgers sticks around or not.
