It’s been yet another lost season for the Indiana Pacers.
The team is ending the year with a 25-55 record and is 14th in the East.
However, this isn’t a huge surprise by any means.
The team management has long known that this season wasn’t going to be one for the record books because they were intent on starting a major rebuild.
Things like this take time and everyone is well aware of that.
More Carlisle: “Let me be absolutely clear. I’m here to coach this team and coach this team for the long-haul. I’m not afraid of any aspect of a rebuild one bit. Not one single bit.”

One of the people comfortable with things not changing overnight is head coach Rick Carlisle.
Carlisle spoke to the media on Thursday and said that he’s going to ride it out with the team no matter how long it takes.
Here is what Carlisle said:
“Let me be absolutely clear. I’m here to coach this team and coach this team for the long-haul. I’m not afraid of any aspect of a rebuild one bit. Not one single bit.”
Will this comment make fans happy?
The Pacers’ Future
The Pacers started their rebuild process this year when they acquired Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield.
Haliburton is particularly of interest to the team because they can see themselves building a whole squad around him.
But there are still quite a few assets the team needs to be a success.
Things like this take time.
Lately, there have been rumors of Carlisle wanting to make his way into the Pacers’ front office instead of the head coaching position.
However, it sounds like Carlisle is re-committing to coaching and only coaching for now.
That’s smart because there will be plenty of work for Carlisle – he definitely has his work cut out for him.
