The New York Jets didn’t have a good season last season, and neither did Aaron Rodgers.
His numbers weren’t as bad as some want to make it seem, but it certainly wasn’t what one would expect from a player of Rodgers’ caliber.
Now, with the team reportedly weighing in on Rodgers’ future with the organization, Rex Ryan has a fundamental question.
Talking on ESPN, the former head coach claimed that the Jets first needed to figure out what they wanted out of the organization:
“Do you want Aaron Rodgers to be the face of your franchise? Or do you want it to be Aaron Glenn?” he questioned.

If they are uncomfortable with Rodgers’ weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee Show and all the baggage that comes with it, they should not bring him back.
Conversely, if they don’t mind that, then there’s no reason not to keep him around, says Ryan.
Ryan has the utmost confidence in Aaron Glenn’s ability to make the most out of Rodgers, so, for Ryan, it’s not a football or performance-based question at this point.
Aaron Rodgers is perhaps the most talented pure passer the game of football has ever seen, and when he’s at his best, there’s no defense on Earth that can stop him.
He might be better next season after having more time removed from his major injury.
Nevertheless, he’s also 41 years old and has a long history of power struggles and whatnot, so this isn’t going to be an easy decision to make by the Jets’ new brass of decision-makers.
