The New York Jets have their new GM and head coach.
Now, they need to figure out whether they will also have a new quarterback.
Earlier reports stated that both parties were ready to move on from one another.
That might no longer be the case.
According to a report by NFL Network insider Judy Battista (via Ian Rapoport), the Jets’ situation with Rodgers remains ‘fluid.’

Rodgers recently claimed that there was no rush to get a resolution done, stating that they would get it done when they got it done.
Then again, Battista believes that the situation could become clearer soon.
Teams would want to know their position on Rodgers before the NFL Draft combine, which will take place two weeks from now.
She adds that Davante Adams’ future with the organization is also contingent on their decision about Rodgers.
Last but not least, they will also have to make a decision regarding contract extensions for young stars like CB Sauce Gardner and WR Garrett Wilson.
Rodgers didn’t have a good season in 2024, but some believe he could be much better in 2025, as he would be more time removed from a major injury.
Nevertheless, he comes with plenty of baggage, and while teams are willing to deal with that when they’re winning, they might feel like he’s not worth all the trouble at this point.
Even so, if he wants to keep playing, he shouldn’t have much trouble finding a new home in the offseason.
