Everyone was happy for Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald on Super Bowl Sunday.
He was a member of that 2018 Rams team who lost in the lopsided and disappointing February 3, 2019, Super Bowl to Tom Brady‘s New England Patriots.
Looking back at our conversation with AD about his first Super Bowl experience. Fast forward 3 years later, and he's a world champion. Congrats again, 99! 🙌🏼@JOEL9ONE | @AaronDonald97 pic.twitter.com/yVGyXTG6sT

Donald finally got his well-deserved ring.

There is talk that Donald might retire because the quest for a Super Bowl title is what was keeping him going.
Donald will take his time after the end of the celebrations to make his decision, but here are three reasons why he should come back to the Rams in 2022.
3. Further Cement His Hall Of Fame Status
To be clear, Donald probably would have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame without this Super Bowl win.
However, he is among the best to play his position and by continuing to play, he can continue to make and prove the case.

Reading his stats, it is amazing what he has accomplished in just eight NFL seasons.
He has made the Pro Bowl every year of his career, and he was First-Team All-Pro in every season but his 2014 rookie year.
Donald followed up his 2014 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award with three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards in a four-year time span (2017, 2018, and 2020).
Aaron Donald in just 8 seasons:

⭐ 3× DPOY
⭐ 2010s All-Decade Team
⭐ 7× First-team All-Pro
⭐ 8× Pro Bowler
⭐ ROTY (2014)

He has had an impressive career, but it does not have to end just yet.
2. Youth Is On His Side
Donald has accomplished so much that people may be inclined to believe he is older than he actually is.
He is only 30 years old.
That is very young by NFL standards.
He also has been healthy throughout his career.
Donald has never had debilitating long-term injuries to deal with.
In fact, he has only missed two career games and those were not for injury reasons.
1. Pursue Back-To-Back Titles
The most obvious reason for Donald to come back is to attempt to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles.

It is not an easy task and is a rare accomplishment that Donald would like to add to his stellar resume.
Donald has indicated that he would like to come back and go for the repeat.
He also said that he would like to see the Rams get the band back together.
Donald is likely referring to all of the free agents the Rams now have to figure out how to handle in the 2022 offseason.
Getting the players back together can help, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed us it does not guarantee back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
They managed to re-sign and retain all 22 of their starting players on offense and defense from their Super Bowl Championship team.
Conclusion
Riding off into the sunset after being crowned a Super Bowl Champion is an idyllic way to retire from the game.
However, if a player such as Aaron Donald, who is in the prime of his career with a lot of good football left to play, gets a taste of winning a Super Bowl, he will most likely come back for another chance to achieve it.
