After eight years with the team, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder is stepping down and moving on.
The loss of Snyder isn’t that surprising – there were many people who assumed Snyder would be parting ways with the team if they didn’t make it far in the postseason yet again.
Still, Snyder’s absence will leave a big void to fill for the front office.
Apparently, Snyder wasn’t fired and decided to step down from the position.
He explained his reasons to the press after the news of his departure broke.
Quin Snyder " I strongly feel they need a new voice to continue to evolve. That’s it. No philosophical differences, no other reason. After 8 years, I just feel it is time to move onward. I needed to take time to detach after the season and make sure this was the right decision"

Snyder still believes in the team, according to his statement.
He said, “I strongly feel they need a new voice to continue to evolve.”
Snyder added: “That’s it. No philosophical differences, no other reason. After eight years, I just feel it is time to move onward. I need to take time to detach after the season and make sure this was the right decision.”
What’s next for the Jazz and what’s next for one of the most respected coaches in the league?
Out Of Tune Jazz
There is no doubt that the Jazz are one of the most talented teams in the West.
They have a roster featuring a few of the league’s best stars, including Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
Yet, despite their power – and the fact that they have sat towards the top of the Western Conference standings – the team keeps getting pushed out of the playoffs early.
The talent is there, it just isn’t being used correctly.
As great as Snyder can be as a coach, he obviously wasn’t able to figure out this team and that’s why Jazz fans should be grateful for his work but excited to see him leave.
However, they should also expect more changes in the months ahead.
The latest rumors say the Jazz could look very different when next season begins.
