This year’s upcoming NFL draft isn’t thought to be super-rich in talent, especially at the quarterback position, but there are two quarterback prospects who have created some intrigue.
Shedeur Sanders from the University of Colorado Boulder had a strong 2024 season and won numerous awards during his four years in the NCAA, and Cam Ward put up impressive numbers this season for the University of Miami.
The two prospects appeared to be working out together when Ward said that he’s “generational,” and Sanders responded by saying that he’s “legendary,” per ClutchPoints.

Sanders and Ward, along with wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter, are widely expected by many to be the first players taken in April’s draft.
There are some questions about both signal-callers — Sanders didn’t play well in the Alamo Bowl, while Ward has a tendency to commit turnovers — but both may have the ability to possibly become franchise players at the next level.
The Tennessee Titans, who have needed a quarterback for years, will have the No. 1 pick, while the Cleveland Browns, who also need a QB but may elect to take a player at a different position, have the No. 2 pick.
The 2024 draft was hailed as one of the most talent-rich classes in anyone’s memory, and many of the most talented players taken in that draft have already either lived up to expectations or have the ability to meet expectations within the next year or two.
It remains to be seen if the 2025 draft class will end up overachieving and making a sizable number of teams very happy.
