The Las Vegas Raiders made a sizable splash on Friday by hiring Pete Carroll to be their new head coach, and that move has seemingly given their long-suffering fans some hope for the immediate future.
Now, the team has to take on the task of fixing a roster that has many holes.
First on their to-do list has to be finding an upgrade at the quarterback position, and there happens to be a signal-caller who spent many years playing for Carroll and is slated to become a free agent — Russell Wilson.
One analyst feels the Raiders should sign Wilson, especially since he would be a less expensive get than Pro Bowler Sam Darnold, per Zach Gelb.

After leaving Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks following the 2021 season, Wilson went to the Denver Broncos and had two dismal seasons in which he missed the playoffs both years.
This season, as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, his level of play picked up a bit, and he guided Pittsburgh to a 10-7 record while getting them to the playoffs.
Obviously, Wilson, who is 36 years of age, isn’t the player he was several years ago when he was consistently chosen to appear in the Pro Bowl and led a Seahawks team that was a perennial contender.
Those Seahawks won it all in the 2013 season and nearly repeated as Super Bowl champions the following season.
The Raiders have a star in the making in rookie tight end Brock Bowers and an established star in pass rusher Maxx Crosby, but other than that, they need plenty of help, roster-wise.
