With less than two weeks to go before the Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, all the teams in the league are trying to finalize their draft boards and their plans for the seven rounds of the draft.
As per usual, most of the attention right now is on the top-tier quarterbacks expected to be taken in the first round of the draft and the impact those players being selected will have on the rest of the league.
Obviously, quarterbacks can’t succeed in the NFL without having solid protection on their offensive line, meaning offensive linemen can be extremely valuable in the draft.
According to Mike Renner of PFF, the top offensive lineman in the upcoming draft is Peter Skoronski, out of Northwestern University.

As arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft, Skoronski will likely be taken in the first round on April 27 and be the first player off the board at his position.
Along with being as talented as they come out of the college game, Skoronski has a championship pedigree, as he is the grandson of Bob Skoronski, who won five Super Bowl titles as an offensive tackle with the Green Bay Packers under Vince Lombardi.
Obviously, players can’t get by on pedigree alone in the NFL, but it does help, especially when a player is as talented as Skoronski.
It’ll be interesting to see where Skoronski lands in the draft and which teams prioritize an offensive lineman of his caliber.
