The Miami Dolphins are in the eye of the storm right now.
Mike McDaniel’s team enters the season under a lot of pressure, and he’s currently the odds-on favorite to be the first head coach fired this season.
However, none of that has made Peter Scharger lose faith in this team.
Talking on ESPN, the renowned analyst predicted that the Dolphins would shock the world by making the playoffs:
“The vibes are bad. Tyreek stinks, Waddle stinks, Tua stinks, Mike McDaniel’s going to be on our network by October as an analyst. No, the Miami Dolphins are my seventh seed. I’m going to take the high-flying Miami Dolphins as my seventh seed. Why? Because they had a 100% participation in their offseason. They bring back both Waddle and Tyreek, both being healthy. The nobody-believes-in-us card has never been longer for a team than the Miami Dolphins, who, by the way, went 6-2 to finish the season last year, and still have Tua Tagovailoa. Remember him? A pretty good quarterback,” Schrager said.

Schrager is usually quite spot-on with his predictions, so the fans should feel excited about this.
Then again, there are also plenty of reasons to be skeptical.
For starters, there is no guarantee that Tyreek Hill, who’s been dealing with an injury in training camp, will ever return to his former level.
More than that, the Dolphins’ offensive line is shaky at best, and Tua Tagovailoa might be just another big hit and concussion away from being forced to medically retire.
There will also be a big desperation factor in South Beach this season, as the Dolphins only have one double-digit win season under McDaniel’s tutelage, and they have yet to win their first playoff game.
The AFC East should be a little better this season, with the New England Patriots looking better and the New York Jets being a bit of a question mark.
It won’t be easy to live up to Schrager’s hot prediction, and it will be interesting to see whether this team is in as bad a place as some analysts seem to believe they are right now.
