The New Orleans Pelicans have a tough decision ahead of them right now.
It seems like, for the first time in his career, they’re actually and legitimately considering moving on from Zion Williamson, and that’s a tough pill to swallow.
There have been multiple reports about him not having any sort of relationship with his teammates and the organization, and JJ Redick claimed that he was a “detached teammate” months ago.
That’s why NBA insider Ryen Russillo asked veteran CJ McCollum if Zion actually listened to him.

McCollum claimed that he wants to believe that he does have Zion’s ear, mostly because he’s never said anything to the public about him that he wouldn’t say to his face.
He believes that Zion listens to him and respects his approach and where he’s coming from.
Then again, that was more of a politically correct answer, and even Russillo admitted that he wouldn’t press things with a follow-up question.
Truth be told, every single thing revolving around Zion has always been a bit of a mystery.
The Pelicans have been either unable or unwilling to communicate what’s going on with him, his rehab, his health status, and even the way he handles himself with his teammates and staff members.
It just doesn’t feel like there’s any way to salvage this relationship and, in all honesty, it doesn’t feel like any of the parties — especially from Zion’s end — has any interest in doing so either, so it’s going to be better off for everyone if they just pull the plug on him.
