NBA fans have been blown away by the New York Knicks this season and believe that they could truly be playoff contenders in a huge way.
They are currently the fifth seed in the East and have racked up many impressive wins over the last few months.
But NBA legend Paul Pierce isn’t so sure they’re the real deal.
According to Legion Hoops, Piere compared the Knicks to an “Instagram model.”
Pierce said:
“The Knicks is like an Instagram model. I be on Instagram and I be like, ‘Damn she fine.’ Then you catch ‘em in person and you’re like… ‘This you?’ It’s too many filters.”

It’s an interesting comparison but Pierce is essentially saying that the Knicks appear great in many ways, but when you get up close and take a better look at them, they aren’t nearly as good.
While the Knicks have indeed had some great wins throughout the year, they have also suffered a few disappointing and surprising defeats too.
In fact, they have gone 3-7 in their last ten games, losing to teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Orlando Magic, Golden State Warriors, and others.
Of course, they have also been suffering some serious injury issues too.
OG Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, and Julius Randle have had a hard time staying healthy.
And Mitchell Robinson remains out after going down back in December.
The Knicks have been sensational for much of the season but they have come back down to Earth a bit recently.
They are still in playoff contention but they don’t look as great as they did a few months ago.
Pierce is questioning how great the Knicks are but they are hoping they can prove him wrong in the weeks ahead.
