Paul Pierce spent 19 years in the NBA, earning a series of accolades and prizes, including a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
During his time in the league, Pierce repeatedly played against LeBron James, who was the biggest up-and-coming stars in the association at the time.
Both found tons of success at that time, but which one was better?
Speaking on the All Facts No Brakes show, Paul Pierce was asked if he or James were a better clutch player.
“Is it facts or fiction that in the clutch you were a better player than LeBron James?” Pierce was asked.
“Facts,” Pierce said without hesitation, according to a video shared by ClutchPoints on Twitter.

Clutch players are supremely important in the NBA and they are often the difference between a team winning and losing.
Someone who is able to produce points in the final five moments of a tight game is seen as a hero and a star who can lead and save his team.
Throughout their careers, both James and Pierce have delivered many clutch moments, leading their teams to victory in the final moments.
Pierce was definitely one of the most important players on the Celtics during that time period, a pivotal piece of the puzzle that ended up winning the Finals.
An argument can be made that he was better in the clutch than James.
However, any time someone is compared to James, controversy will ensue.
Therefore, a lot of people will take issue with Pierce’s claim that he’s a superior clutch player.
Host Keyshawn Johnson pointed out the fact that Pierce was very loyal to the Celtics during his career and didn’t bounce around the league, referencing the fact that James has played for multiple teams now.
But does that mean Pierce was a better clutch player?
The debate about this question will surely continue.
