Though the New England Patriots have nothing to play for in Week 18, they may want to take one last look at some of their young players.
One of those they would want to evaluate when they host the Buffalo Bills is rookie Drake Maye, who has shown some promise as far as being a true franchise quarterback moving forward.
However, he has been dealing with a hand injury and was again limited during practice, according to Mike Kadlick of Sports Illustrated.

Maye, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, started the season as the backup to Jacoby Brissett but became the starter in Week 6.
His season stats of 2,276 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions aren’t impressive, but he does have serious potential.
The Patriots, who have a 3-13 record and are in line for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, have been in the wilderness ever since Tom Brady left following the 2019 season, and the biggest reason for their struggles has been the poor play they have gotten from their quarterbacks.
For a minute, they thought they had found their QB of the future when Mac Jones turned in a solid rookie year and got them to the playoffs in the 2021 season.
With Maye, they at least have someone who was more highly regarded coming out of college than Jones was and seems to have more overall talent.
