Who is going to keep their job in New England after this season?
That is an intriguing question seeing as the team is currently sitting at a poor record of 3-13 and at the bottom of the league.
One of the Patriots coaches whose future is up in the air is that of offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, who spoke with the New England media Thursday morning about his job security.
“This is the business. We all signed up for this. When you win three games, it’s tough…Whatever happens after (Sunday), we’ll see,” Van Pelt said bluntly.
Alex Van Pelt says the conversation around his job security is not a distraction, and that he’d love to be back in New England for next season.
Also mentioned that he believes his team hasn’t had a single game where they haven’t “put out their full efforts, and that’s… pic.twitter.com/10K2NWrxgQ

The Patriots currently rank 30th in total offense (290.8 YPG) and 30th in scoring offense (16.6 PPG).
Combine that with the team’s rough record and that is why Van Pelt could be on the hot seat here.
However, rookie quarterback Drake Maye has shown strides and could have some potential in this league if he continues to progress.
Maye has a total passer rating of 88.3 and has completed 66.8% of his passes despite battling injuries and plenty of tough moments throughout his rookie season.
It will be interesting to see which coaches are kept on in New England this offseason, aside from Van Pelt.
Head coach Jerod Mayo could be on the hot seat after a tough first season replacing legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
With the likes of Mike Vrabel, Pete Carroll, Ben Johnson, and other quality head-coaching candidates out there, the Pats could have a tough choice to make at head coach once Sunday’s game concludes.
