For the best part of the past decade, Travis Kelce has become a marquee name around the NFL.
Now, at 35 years old, his priorities may have changed.
He’s no longer in his prime, and he’s coming off arguably the worst season of his career.
That’s why, as much as he could still be an impactful player, he might not want to come back next season.
When asked about that, Patrick Mahomes claimed that Kelce had earned the right to take some time and consider his future with his family before making any decision (via Ian Rapoport)
Of course, he also said that Kelce still had plenty of football left in him, adding that he’s a lock to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer:
“I’ll let Travis make that decision on his own, man. He’s given so much to this team and to the NFL and been such a joy, not only for me to work with but for people to watch. He knows he still has a lot of football left in him. You can see it. … He’s done enough to be a gold jacket guy and a first-ballot Hall of Famer. … He’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own,” he said.

Any team would be fortunate to have a player like Travis Kelce, even if this version of him is the most mortal we’ve seen.
He didn’t have a good game in the Super Bowl, though.
He had four catches on six targets for 39 receiving yards and a couple of head-scratching drops.
He wasn’t a factor until late in the game.
Kelce’s future has been a talking point for months now.
He might be able to make more money off the field right now, and some fans have questioned his priorities since he started dating pop superstar Taylor Swift.
Also, the wear and tear of playing in the NFL, especially in that position, cannot be overlooked.
Kelce would’ve loved to ride into the sunset after a three-peat.
Now, he has plenty of thinking to do.
