The Kansas City Chiefs’ quest for a three-peat fell short.
The Philadelphia Eagles dominated them on both sides of the field, and the final score didn’t show just how lopsided the entire game was.
That’s why, after the loss, Patrick Mahomes went on social media to take responsibility for the defeat.
The three-time Super Bowl champion claimed he let the fans down, but he added that they will continue to work and return to the biggest stage.
Appreciate all the love and support from #ChiefsKingdom
I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.
Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me.
We will be back.

Mahomes finished the game with 257 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and two interceptions.
However, the bulk of his production came with the game already out of reach.
Nevertheless, even though his two picks seemed inexcusable, it’s hard to blame him for how things went down.
DeAndre Hopkins dropped a crucial pass that could’ve extended a drive early to get on the scoreboard before things got out of hand.
Travis Kelce also failed to hold onto multiple passes.
Mahomes was running for his life from start to finish.
Even a proven veteran like Joe Thuney failed to hold his ground against the Eagles’ bruising defensive line, and Mahomes was running right into the pressure over and over.
This was a masterpiece of a game by Nick Sirianni’s team.
Vic Fangio’s defense disrupted everything Andy Reid threw at them, and Kellen Moore made the most of every ounce of space the defense gave him.
Nevertheless, it’s never wise to count out a team like the Chiefs or a player like Mahomes.
The last time they lost a Super Bowl, they won two of the next three.
