The week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl is one of the quieter ones on the sports calendar, though it gives plenty of time for fans to learn more about the players and teams who will be facing off in the big game.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is looking to win his fourth Super Bowl and lead his team to the first three-peat in NFL history.
However, in the meantime, he has plenty of time to do media leading up to the game and recently named his favorite baseball player of all time.
Mahomes played baseball and is the son of a former MLB pitcher, so he is no stranger to the diamond.
He recently stated in an interview shared by Savage Sports that his favorite player growing up was Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was perhaps the most polarizing star in the game during his many years with the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees, amassing 696 home runs and three MVP awards during his years in the big leagues.
As a part owner of the Kansas City Royals, Mahomes probably should have given a more diplomatic answer and said Mike Sweeney, but regardless, choosing A-Rod as your favorite player could be part of his villain arc.
Many fans have grown restless and are tired of seeing the Chiefs win Super Bowls, more specifically, growing tired of Mahomes’ seemingly favorable calls from the refs and his antics when it comes to drawing penalties.
However, just like Rodriguez, if you don’t have a ton of fans rooting for you to fail, you might not be as great as you think you are.
