Milwaukee Bucks star Patrick Beverley sat out of Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a wrist injury.
Unfortunately, that may be only the beginning of a lengthy absence.
Speaking on his podcast, via League Alert, Beverley revealed “disturbing news” that could greatly alter the rest of the season.
He said that he had a torn ligament in his right wrist and might need surgery that would keep him sidelined for three to four months.

Beverley said that his wrist didn’t feel too bad and that his mental health was good despite the injury, but it’s clear that he is very disappointed by this information.
The team hasn’t announced any official news about the star but it sounds like he could miss the rest of the season and the playoffs too.
Of course, there is a chance that he elects to hold off on the surgery until after the season is done.
If his doctors allow that, Beverley could stay with his team as they try to push through the rest of the Eastern Conference.
However, if Beverley’s medical team advises surgery as soon as possible, the Bucks will need to rely on other players like AJ Green and Pat Connaughton to play backup guard.
This season, Beverley has contributed 5.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for the Bucks, shooting 40.7% from the field.
Over his 11 years in the league, Beverley has made a name for himself as someone with a strong work ethic, outspoken personality, and driven defensive skills.
He might not be a top scorer for the Bucks but he has become an important part of the team’s culture and locker room.
His absence will be felt if he has to sit out because of this wrist injury but he will definitely be on the sidelines rooting for Milwaukee.
