Jrue Holiday found so much success with the Milwaukee Bucks and helped them win their championship back in 2021.
He was an essential part of the team, at least that’s what he thought.
Instead, Holiday was traded away from the Bucks last summer when the team acquired Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Speaking with Draymond Green, via NBACentral, Holiday spoke about how it all went down.
He said he was deep in a nap when he received a call from Milwaukee’s general manager, who informed him of the trade.
The entire process didn’t sit right with Holiday.
“At least let me know 24 hours in advance, not five minutes in advance,” Holiday said.

The NBA is a business and that means that front offices will focus on what is best for them, their team, and their future.
This leads to incidents like Holiday’s, where he is viewed as a commodity that can be moved without much warning or consideration.
Holiday doesn’t think the situation was handled well, especially because of everything he did for the Bucks during his three seasons with them.
In 2021, he helped the team storm the Eastern Conference and then push all the way to the Finals.
During that playoff run, he scored 17.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.7 assists.
He also grew very close with his teammates and was seen as one of the most important players on the team.
While Holiday understands that choices like this have to be made, he believes that he could have been told about his impending departure in advance.
Instead, he was informed about it around the same time that everyone else was.
Holiday will always fondly remember his years in Milwaukee but that doesn’t mean he’ll be happy about how it ended.
