Fans of the Orlando Magic have been waiting for Thursday night.
That is because it will be the first appearance of number one draft pick Paolo Banchero in a Magic jersey, during the team’s NBA Summer League debut.
There is an awful lot of hope and faith in Banchero and his talent with millions of fans thinking he’s an odds-on favorite to be next season’s Rookie of the Year.

Banchero is ready to show the people he has what it takes to win that and more.
On Thursday morning, he tweeted out “yesssiirrr we back tonight,” with a fully-charged battery emoji.
Banchero seems ready to go so does this mean the Magic are about to turn things around?
Questions About Banchero
No matter how he does on Thursday night, Banchero is going to make an impression with his Summer League debut.
If he does very well (as number two pick Chet Holmgren did in his debut) people are going to go nuts and say that Banchero is without a doubt the real deal and a perfect number one pick.
And if he has troubles, you can expect a mild sense of panic from Orlando fans.
But people need to keep something in mind: becoming great in the NBA doesn’t happen overnight, even for number one draft picks.
Take Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, for example: his first season got off to a rocky start but he was playing like an absolute pro by the end of the year.
There is greatness in Banchero no matter how he does on Thursday night.
It’s been a while since Magic fans were truly excited about their team and they are ready for that to change.
