The Carolina Panthers, after experiencing a disappointing and chaotic 2022 season, are hoping to surprise people and be very competitive this fall and winter.
They have a new quarterback in Bryce Young, the No. 1 overall pick in last month’s draft, and many are excited about his potential and future.
New Panthers head coach Frank Reich commented on how Young looked during his first day of practice and rookie minicamp.
Panthers HC Frank Reich says QB Bryce Young, in his first practice at rookie minicamp today, "mentally and physically looked the part in every way."

On one hand, there have been questions about how Young will hold up at the next level given the fact that he’s only 5-foot-10 and weighs only about 200 pounds.
But he seems to check every other box for an NFL quarterback — in fact, it has been said that if he were a normal-sized quarterback, he would be considered a generational talent.
Scouts and observers have raved about Young’s passing, mobility and deft feel for the game.
Usually, when a quarterback is taken No. 1 in the draft, he ends up going to a team that lacks playmakers or any basic structure or character, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Carolina.
They will have two reliable wide receivers for Young in DJ Chark and Adam Thielen, and even better, Pro Bowl running back Miles Sanders, fresh off helping to bring the Philadelphia Eagles to the brink of a Super Bowl championship, will take pressure off Young in the backfield.
The Panthers are fortunate they play in the weaker of the NFL’s two conferences, as they may actually have a shot at a playoff spot if Young is strong out of the gates this coming season.
