The guessing game continues for Green Bay Packers quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.
He still hasn’t announced his decision on whether he will retire, stay with the Packers, or leave for another team.
The lengthy Instagram update he had was not indicative of his choice, as revealed in his recent guesting on The Pat McAfee Show.
But while Rodgers’ next move is up in the air, the Packers are preparing a lucrative offer that might entice the four-time MVP to remain with the squad.
This tweet by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport has the latest details regarding the Rodgers saga.
From @NFLTotalAccess: The #Packers await Aaron Rodgers’ firm decision, but getting him back is their No. 1 priority. And sources say they are working on a deal to be in place if he decides he wants to return to GB. It will be an expensive one. pic.twitter.com/UmF5GLNK91

You may remember that Rodgers said before that he will have a decision by “early March”.
That said, his official announcement might be days away.
More On Rapoport’s Update
Rapoport’s tweet includes a video wherein he’s sharing a brief report on additional details.
Regarding the new deal, Rapoport clarified that: “Nothing is done but they are having discussions. They are having negotiations to have a deal hopefully for them ready to go if and when Aaron Rodgers firmly and finally decides that he wants to return.”
He added: “There’s no surprise that this will be a short-term deal that will make Rodgers the highest-paid player in the NFL. That’s what the reigning MVP deserves and that’s what he will get.”
If Rodgers eventually decided to return to Green Bay, he may have an annual salary of around $50 million.
It’s a lot of money for one player but it’s worth the payment if it’s a high-caliber player like Rodgers.
