History shows those who forget it are doomed to repeat that same history.
The Green Bay Packers are showing they are doomed to repeat history with Aaron Rodgers.
They keep having two choices: keep key players or give Rodgers a huge contract.
Every time they keep picking him, and releasing some of their other key players to stay under the cap space.
The 2022 offseason proved yet again that Rodgers gets paid while other players get cut or traded.
However, Rodgers complains about the team not keeping some of their best players.
He somehow neglects to see how his contract is the problem Green Bay has with keeping other players.
2021 Saw Rodgers Publicly Complain About Roster Moves
During the NFL 2021 preseason, Rodgers opened up to the media about his feelings with management in Green Bay.

His complaints centered on the team not re-signing or offering their key player contracts.
However, those complaints are justified, as losing players like Clay Matthews hurt the Packers.
He went on about players he felt should have stayed in Green Bay.
The list had the best offensive and defensive players of the team during his time in Green bay
He mentioned how people come to Green Bay to play with him and how Green Bay isn’t a huge vacation destination.
But never did he mention how his salary sometimes holds the team back in getting or keeping top-tier talent.
The 2022 offseason would prove how his salary would cost the Packers several top-tier players.
Packers Cut Core Players To Get Under Cap For 2022
Players like Za’Darius Smith, Lucas Patrick, and Billy Turner all were cut for the Packers to get under the cap for 2022.
It also led the team to franchise tag their top receiver Davante Adams, a move that would end his time in Green Bay.
Adams would refuse to play under the franchise tag, asking for a long-term deal instead.

However, the Packers couldn’t get him that deal before they tagged him.
That was because of the contract they had with their star quarterback.
Ultimately, the Packers reworked Rodgers’ contract.
However, by the time it happened, it was already too late to keep Adams around.
Before their quarterback signed his new contract, he was informed of a trade of his best receiver.
The deal sent Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders while the Packers got two high-value draft picks.
So now Rodgers is without two of his starting offensive linemen and his top receiver for 2022.
It’s only a matter of time before we get to hear his complaints yet again about Packers management.
Green Bay Is A Toxic Environment For Players
As good as fans think Green Bay is, the team is just toxic because of Rodgers.
He’s in a mediocre division and complains about problems that he has a role in.
While some complaints are legit, others are ignored.
Why can’t Rodgers be like Tom Brady and give the Packers more cap space for the players he wants?
Instead, he makes things about himself and how people want to play with him.
I’m sorry, but if they did, Adams would have stayed instead of going to play with his old college teammate.
