The NBA season is still young but there have already been some surprising turns within it that few people saw coming.
For example, who thought the Golden State Warriors would be 4-7?
And who expected the Miami Heat to be 4-7 as well, or the Los Angeles Lakers to be a painful 2-9?
Surprising NBA records to start the season..

There are quite a few rough records in the league right now and it’s leading some people to remind the teams that Carmelo Anthony, who could assist just about any of these squads, is ready to play.
Anthony is a free agent without a team, which means that all he needs is a phone call – and a contract – and he could be suited up and on the court in just a few days.
He isn’t the only free agent who has been left behind by the NBA.
After such a dismal start for many teams, is anyone going to come knocking at Anthony’s door?
Why Carmelo?
Would Anthony help an ailing team like the Lakers?
The answer to that is yes and we have the proof: he did that just last year.
Anthony wasn’t playing for many minutes but he repeatedly assisted the team when they needed him most.
In the end, he averaged 13.3 points for the Lakers during the 2021-22 season.
His field goal percentage was 44.1% and his average from the three-point line was 37.5%.
It’s not just the Lakers who could be helped by Anthony, he could give a step up to a number of teams in the NBA.
Along with Rajon Rondo, DeMarcus Cousins, and others, Anthony is a free agent who has been overlooked by the teams in the association.
