If the Denver Nuggets are going to return to the NBA Finals this year, they will need the expert skill and hard work of Jamal Murray.
Murray just faced a scary injury, but it could have been even scarier.
The Nuggets recently reported that Murray has a right ankle sprain and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Twitter, Harrison Wind said that Murray avoided a serious injury, which is unquestionably good news.
However, he also urged the Nuggets to be “cautious right now with him” because no one wants the injury to get worse.
The news here is that Murray avoided a serious injury. That’s a great development, but Denver has to be cautious right now with him. https://t.co/5BqgkCWmQP

Murray’s injury came on Thursday night during a game against the Miami Heat.
After hurting his ankle, Murray left and wasn’t able to return but the Nuggets still pulled out a 103-97 win over the Heat.
According to head coach Mike Malone, Murray wanted to come back to join his team again on Thursday but ultimately decided to not stress his body.
That is also good news suggesting that he could be back soon.
The problem here is that Murray has had ankle injuries in the past so there is a legitimate reason to be very careful moving forward.
A right ankle sprain isn’t too serious but if it isn’t handled well Murray could be out for a very long time.
The Nuggets are currently in hot pursuit of the top spot in the Western Conference with a 41-19 record, which puts them right behind the Oklahoma City Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Nuggets will face off against the Lakers on Saturday night and then they have to face the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics in the days ahead.
It sounds like there is a chance that Murray will be back for those games.
