With about 25 regular-season games left for most teams in the NBA, the playoff picture is starting to take shape as the best teams in the league are starting to separate themselves from the pack.
Interestingly enough, the Western Conference is incredibly top-heavy, with four teams in the conference either already having 40 wins or being on the cusp of reaching that number.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder are currently leading the way in the West, with both teams sporting a record of 40-17, while the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets are in third place at 39-19, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers at 37-19.
Although the Timberwolves and Thunder are currently sitting above the Nuggets, Denver still looks like a team that will be incredibly tough to beat once the NBA playoffs get underway in a few weeks.
Nikola Jokic is on the verge of locking up his third NBA MVP award while the team itself is firing on all cylinders, having won three straight games and resembling the dominant squad that dominated the competition last year in the postseason.
Jason Timpf of Hoops Tonight believes that there’s no hope for opposing teams, with the Nuggets offense being virtually unstoppable at this point via The Volume.
“They have reached a level of unguardability,” Timpf said.
"It literally is hopeless"

Although it is a stretch to say there’s no hope for opponents that will face the defending champions in the playoffs, the Nuggets definitely look like a team that can repeat, as Jokic and company look as good as ever.
As long as the Nuggets can stay healthy moving forward, there might not be a ceiling for this team, as another title might be inevitable.
