There were many wild and impressive contract extensions and deals revealed on Thursday night at the start of NBA free agency.
Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards, and Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies were just some of the many superstars who secured some serious cash.
But they all paled in comparison to Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
The Joker secured a fortune as he earned a five-year, $270 million package from the Nuggets.

Not only is the biggest NBA contract in the history of the league, it also makes him only the second center to earn a deal worth more than $200 million.
The only other center to do that is Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz.
Yes, it’s a huge amount of money but Denver is certain that Jokic is worth every single penny.
No Joking Around
Everyone knew the Nuggets were going to offer as much as they could to Jokic.
Even knowing that, this $270 million contract is still astonishing.
But it shows that Denver is undoubtedly Jokic’s team for as long as he wants it and he is the heart and soul of the team both in the near future and long term.
As for Gobert, he is still in the midst of his five-year, $205 million extension that he signed with the Jazz back in December of 2020.
His 15.6 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists a game mean that he’s one of the best centers in the game.
But Jokic surpasses him – and everyone else – in nearly every way with 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists a game.
Simply put, there are few players like Jokic and that’s why his bank account just got such a huge boost.
