Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets didn’t make a lot of money on Thursday night – he made all the money.

The reigning Most Valuable Player of the league signed a deal with this team for five years and $270 million.

If your jaw is hanging open after reading that, you’re not alone: it’s the biggest contract in the history of the league.

You can’t say the big man doesn’t deserve it: he’s a generational talent unlike any other.

But his great success in the league should be motivation and inspiration for fans all over.

Nikola Jokic – drafted during a Taco Ball commercial in the 2nd round and now has the biggest contract in NBA history

Just keep working .. don’t let anyone label you or tell you you cant do something

— Ben Stinar (@BenStinar) June 30, 2022

As Ben Stinar pointed out, Jokic was selected in the second round of his draft and such little attention was paid to him at the time that his name was announced during a commercial break as viewers saw the latest ad from Taco Bell.

Now, just a few years later, Jokic received the biggest payday in NBA history.

So no matter what people say or where you start, you can always achieve something huge.

Joker Gets The Last Laugh

Not only is Jokic now the best player on his team, he’s one of the very best in the entire NBA.

He started with an average of 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists a game during his rookie year and now puts up 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists a game.

And his team could be getting a lot better soon.

In the upcoming months, the Nuggets should see the return of both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., which will help Jokic out a lot and could give them a real shot at being good in the playoffs again.

Jokic’s numbers might go down next season but that’s a good thing because it means he will be getting more help from these two stars.
