Is it time for the New York Jets to look forward to the 2024 NFL season?
After all, Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending injury has hurt their playoff chances this year.
But there’s a glimmer of hope for the Jets, thanks to their playmakers on offense and defense.
However, even their talent won’t be enough if the man behind center isn’t pulling his weight.
FS1’s Nick Wright isn’t optimistic about the Jets’ chances in 2023 because he thinks Zach Wilson is not the man for the job.
“Zach Wilson is one of the worst QBs in NFL history. … He’s being asked to do something he can’t do. If they asked me to unicycle on national TV, I’d be like, ‘this sucks, I don’t know how to do this, but they’re making me.’ That’s Zach playing QB in the NFL,” Wright said in his What’s Wright? Podcast.

It’s hard to refute Wright’s claim because the numbers speak for themselves.
While the Jets won their season opener against the Buffalo Bills, Wilson finished with 14 completions for 140 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
Josh Allen would have outplayed him if not for his three picks to Jordan Whitehead.
A week later, Wilson had a three-interception game, tallying only 170 passing yards and a 44.4 completion percentage.
Those interceptions bring Wilson’s total to 22 in 24 games played.
The Jets are at a crossroads with Zach Wilson.
Will they continue to trust that he will become a reliable quarterback?
Or will they resort to drafting another QB who could take over for Rodgers after 2024?
