Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs is done with the NBA Summer League.
After just two games, the French phenom has been pulled from the rotation.
This isn’t surprising.
We always knew that he would probably just perform for a few games as a way to warm up for the season and create serious hype around the Spurs.
So, how did he do?
Nick Wright is quite impressed by most of Wembanyama’s work in the Summer League.
“This is almost exactly what I expected he would look like: immediately impactful and knowing exactly what he wants to do defensively, and a total wild card offensively,” Wright said on First Things First.

Wright admits that the young rookie had some issues offensively.
He was sloppy at times, got pushed around by others, and wasn’t consistent with his shots.
But there is reason to believe he will get better than that, especially because his free-throw percentage was quite impressive.
Wembanyama, who hadn’t played basketball in weeks because of the wild rush of the draft process, was already showing fans that he could be a serious problem for other teams.
His defense was great right away and he averaged 10 rebounds and 4 blocks during his two Summer League games.
He has a lot of room for improvement in several parts of his game and now the hard work begins.
Up next, Wembanyama will take a much-needed vacation.
But he will then hunker down with Gregg Popovich and the rest of the coaching staff to enhance his skills.
Fans of the Spurs are hopeful that what they saw from him during Summer League was just the tip of the iceberg.
It was only two games but it was definitely a very promising start for the young man who could possibly change the NBA.
