Last season, it became painfully apparent that the one piece the New York Jets were missing was a quarterback to lead this talented young offense.
Zach Wilson and Mike White weren’t cutting it, and a drastic change needed to happen in order to advantage of the team potentially being in a championship window.
As a result, the Jets went out and traded for superstar Aaron Rodgers as a short-term fix, which is seeming more and more like a brilliant move as he appears to be a veteran rejuvenated and ready to compete for a title on a new team.
With the Jets already being labeled potential title contenders ahead of the 2023 NFL season, adding another star into the mix will only help their chances of competing, and they could be on the verge of doing that with running back Dalvin Cook set to visit with the team.
Although adding Cook could make the Jets one of the best offenses on paper this season, Nick Wright of Fox Sports isn’t sold on the perennial Pro Bowler making this team elite in the AFC, via First Things First.
"I do not think the Jets are close enough to being a true contender to where Dalvin Cook puts them over the top. … They're an 8 or 9 win team, with or without Dalvin Cook."

Even though the AFC is incredibly talented this season, with many teams gunning for a Super Bowl title, the Jets are as stacked as they come on both sides of the football, with the team’s only potential weakness being the offensive line.
Obviously, that’s a significant potential weakness, but if the line is able to put it together for the 2023 campaign, New York could become the team to beat in the conference as long as Rodgers has something left in the tank.
Adding Cook into the mix in New York makes the team incredibly dynamic offensively and a scary sight for any opposing defense.
