The Philadelphia Eagles just saw their 10-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Washington Commanders and will look to start a new streak when they take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17.
The Eagles led the Commanders before Jalen Hurts exited the game with a concussion, and Philadelphia head coach Nick Sirianni recently provided an update on the quarterback’s status.
“It’s going to be tough for him to make it this week,” Sirianni said, via Tim McManus of ESPN.

Hurts remains in the concussion protocol, and his absence would mean Kenny Pickett will start against the Cowboys with running back Saquon Barkley just 268 yards away from the NFL single-season rushing record.
The Eagles also still have an outside shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and that resulting bye would give Hurts even more time to recover.
Philadelphia ends the regular season against the lowly New York Giants, who are in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and likely have no desire to add another win to their total.
Pickett performed admirably in his first extended action with the Eagles, going 14-for-24 for 143 yards with a touchdown and an interception against the Commanders.
Winning without Hurts won’t be an easy task, as he’s such a pivotal member of the offense, but the Eagles’ playoff berth is secure and there is no reason for the team to push him.
