The NFL world spent the entire weekend wondering if Tom Brady was retiring, or if all the reports were premature.
He himself never said anything about it, meaning he could always change his mind.
That all changed Tuesday morning when Brady finally said it all in his own words.
He was retiring for real.
This is a unique situation because the NFL world already reacted to the news over the weekend.
But now that it’s official the tributes are all flying out again.

There is just not as much shock because of the fact the decision was leaked out a few days ago.
Forever a part of Buccaneers history.
Thank you for everything, @TomBrady. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/XkMON0SY8j

NFL World Reacts To Brady’s Official Retirement
A legend like Brady retiring means he will get honors from just about everyone in the game of football.
That includes Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The only odd thing is that Brady himself never mentioned the New England Patriots.
He may be saving that for a later date when he can have a proper send-off with the franchise.
Unless I miss it there is no mention of the patriots in Tom Brady‘s announcement.
How do #patriots fans feel about that?#nfl

He officially rides off into the sunset with seven Super Bowl titles to his name.
It is easy to say another quarterback will never reach that mark.
But it may also take centuries for certain teams in the NFL to even sniff that mark as well.
His casual dominance was never seen before and it will be weird to have an NFL without Brady in 2022.

He now steps aside to allow a new era of quarterbacks to chase his greatness.
Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen are a few who come to mind right away.
A privilege to watch and a dream come true.

But they better start winning titles fast if they ever want to approach the status of being the GOAT.
