Las Vegas Raiders fans react as players walk off the field following the team's 20-7 victory over the Seattle Seahawks during a NFL preseason game at Allegiant Stadium on August 14, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to get a slice of the New England Patriots’ success by hiring Josh McDaniels as their new head coach.

The 45-year-old former offensive coordinator will join General Manager Dave Ziegler, the Patriots’ former player personnel director.

Raiders team owner Mark Davis hopes that this combination will help them improve from their Super Wild Card Weekend exit this season.

But while McDaniels helped the Patriots reach the postseason and guided rookie quarterback Mac Jones, there should be cause for concern about his hiring.

For now, no one can tell if he will succeed in Las Vegas.

However, Raiders fans will have a hard time celebrating this development due to these reasons.

3. The Belichick Coaching Tree Isn’t Doing Well

It’s hard to refute Bill Belichick’s case as the greatest NFL head coach of all time.

After all, dominating the AFC East for the better part of two decades and winning six Super Bowls are impressive achievements.

But it’s a mystery to see his former deputies struggle once they are in total command.

Brian Flores most recently went 24-25 with the Miami Dolphins.

Bill O’Brien went 52-48 with the Houston Texans, while Romeo Crennel had a 32-63 slate for three teams.

Meanwhile, Matt Patricia compiled a 13-29-1 mark in three seasons with the Detroit Lions.

Eric Mangini finished with a 33-47 record with the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns.

Finally, Joe Judge got the pink slip from the New York Giants after two seasons and a 10-23 record.

2. McDaniels Failed His Previous Head Coaching Experience

McDaniels was the head coach of the Denver Broncos and had an 11-17 record.

Aside from losing more games than they won, controversies surrounded his stint at the Mile High City.

He traded Jay Cutler for Kyle Orton, traded Brandon Marshall to the Dolphins, and drafted Tim Tebow.

Worst, the league fined the Broncos for $50,000 during McDaniels’ tenure due to filming a practice session by the San Francisco 49ers.

Then, he almost had a second head coaching stint, this time with the Indianapolis Colts.

Unfortunately, he broke the franchise’s trust by backing out of a job after already hiring his assistants.

Instead, he returned to Belichick with that stain on his character.

That said, could there be a possibility of history repeating itself?

The Raiders are hoping otherwise for McDaniels to push through with his new designation.

1. They Already Have The Head Coach They Need

Interim head coach Rich Bisaccia deserves a ton of credit for bringing the Raiders to the playoffs by winning their last four regular-season games.

That accomplishment is massive, considering that he replaced a well-known head coach and dealt with off-field issues regarding some of their players.

Then after their loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Super Wild Card Weekend, he wrote a card for every player on the active roster.

Shoutout to Rich Bisaccia

The Raiders players have the utmost respect for him, and they responded by playing well.

Therefore, why destroy what’s already working?

It’s too late to make Bisaccia the real head coach because the announcements about McDaniels are already out.

But if the Raiders have a change of heart, they better give the reins to the man who helped them become contenders again
