The National Football League will now have games on Black Friday, which is an excellent and exciting concept for the fans.
More than that, it paved the way for another sort of traditional game every season, such as what the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions have with the Thanksgiving slate.
That’s why the Cincinnati Bengals reportedly volunteered to play every Black Friday, hoping to have a traditional game of their own for years to come, according to Ari Meirov.
Meirov adds that the league reportedly considered Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals as their Black Friday game, but they eventually chose Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets because New York is the No. 1 retail market in the nation, thus making it a cool and obvious fit for Black Friday.
NFL schedule maker Mike North said today that the #Bengals volunteered to play on Black Friday every year and essentially make it a tradition just like Dallas and Detroit have on Thanksgiving.

No disrespect to the Bengals whatsoever, but NYC is one of the biggest sports markets on Earth, so this obviously makes sense.
Of course, the Jets haven’t been historically great, but they do have a huge fanbase, and they should be one of the teams to beat in the league for the next couple of years, at the very least.
The Jets had already built a strong and promising core of young players, and adding Aaron Rodgers to that up-and-coming roster will make them a must-watch team for as long as the four-time MVP is in town.
Still, there have been rumors about the league looking to spread out games throughout the whole week at some point in the future, so there’s still hope for the Bengals.
