The New York Jets wanted to revamp their pass rush by trading for Haason Reddick.
Multiple reports claimed that the Philadelphia Eagles gave them permission to discuss a contract extension with him before the trade.
And while they weren’t on the same page, the expectation was that Reddick would earn his new contract on the field.
Fast forward to today, and he has yet to report to the team, and with the Jets refusing to cave into pressure and just give him a new deal, he keeps losing money by the day.
Notably, it’s reached a point where he might never suit up for them.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Reddick might be looking at $10 million in losses by Halloween, and it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that this story will have a happy ending.
Where does the Haason Reddick holdout go from here?
The tally of how much money he's lost during his holdout from the Jets keeps growing. And it'll reach $10M by Halloween with no resolution in sight.

The writing was on the wall for something like this to happen eventually, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see more teams taking the same approach.
For years, the players have tried to turn the table by making the most of their leverage and threatening to hold out to get a new contract.
Even so, and as great a player as Reddick is, the show must go on, and the fact of the matter is that the world and the league continue their course regardless of whether he’s on the field or not.
This isn’t even about money at this point, and with both sides looking to make a statement, there’s no end in sight for this saga.
