The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets agreed to trade to send Haason Reddick to the Big Apple this offseason.
According to multiple reports, the trade only took place after the Eagles granted the Jets permission to discuss a contract extension with Reddick.
However, they were unable to agree to terms on a new deal but agreed to pick up talks depending on Reddick’s performance this season.
Four weeks into the regular season, the Pro Bowl pass rusher hasn’t reported to the Jets, and he’s losing $800,000 for every game he misses, on top of all the fines he’s already piled up.
Now, he’s reportedly looking to head back home.

Truth be told, it made no sense to think that Reddick would play the final year of his contract with another team if he could have just stayed with his hometown team, which was also a Super Bowl contender.
But now that he’s reportedly not holding up his end by taking the field, the Jets seemingly have no interest in negotiating with him unless he shows up.
This might not even be about money at this point, and Reddick may have dug himself into a massive hole with his approach.
The Jets would benefit greatly from his presence on the field, especially after parting ways with pass rusher Bryce Huff, who ironically signed with the Eagles as a free agent this offseason.
Then again, it’s about time a team held its ground and refused to cave in to a holdout threat.
