The New York Jets fanbase could face a unique phenomenon in 2023.
Winning is something that has eluded the franchise for several years, as they currently have a 12-year playoff drought.
The addition of Aaron Rodgers has reignited the organization, which finally has a franchise quarterback they can rally around.
As Diana Russini has recently reported, a cultural shift is happening within the locker room, thanks to Rodgers.
Spoke to multiple Jets players & coaches about the impact of Aaron Rodgers:
*The standard has been raised
*The “little details” are significant to Rodgers
*Everyone is being held accountable in meetings and on the field
*Rodgers HAS A LOT OF SAY
*He’s ALL IN
*Trust is building— Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) May 23, 2023
After speaking with Jets players and coaches, Russini believes that accountability is high and that standards are now heightened.
In his last few seasons with the Green Bay Packers, many reported that Rodgers was jaded, standoffish, and had an overall bad attitude.
These are not the reports coming out of the Jets’ camp if Russini’s summation is truly how the organization feels.
She also indicated that the team has continued trust in Rodgers, believing that he is the leader they have been looking for.
Rodgers is joined on offense by the likes of Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and a familiar face, Allen Lazard.
Lazard was Rodgers’ top receiver in Green Bay and now has another opportunity to work with him on the Jets.
With any luck, he will be able to build rapport with these new receivers, resulting in an instant, year-one impact.
The AFC East has become a difficult division, especially due to the rise of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
Can Rodgers make a year-one impact on the Jets, especially considering they have one of the NFL’s most elite defenses?
