The waiting game continues for the Cleveland Browns regarding Deshaun Watson‘s fate for the upcoming season.
There’s still no word regarding the decision that will be handed out by former federal judge Sue Robinson.
That said, any speculation regarding the verdict that you see online is just that: speculation.
There is no truth to it because the real judgment will come from Robinson herself.
It’s easy to mislead people about the ruling because it could either be one of two results.
The league is pushing for an indefinite suspension which will force Watson to sit out the entire 2022 season and part of the 2023 season.
Meanwhile, Watson’s camp is fighting for a reduced sanction that will allow him to return this season.
With only two results to choose from, it’s easy to formulate an outcome based on unreliable sources.
To clarify the situation further, CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson had this to say regarding a potential date for the verdict.
I’ve been told over & over that the impression is ‘Sue Robinson wants to get this right,’ ‘She wants to take her time.’ As of this morning, the expectation was the decision is not this week, but that was couched w/t proverbial ‘never say never.’ Keep an eye out; live your life.🤷♀️ https://t.co/S9YgQeIfRC

Anderson tweeted, “I’ve been told over & over that the impression is ‘Sue Robinson wants to get this right,’ ‘She wants to take her time.’ As of this morning, the expectation was the decision is not this week, but that was couched w/t the proverbial ‘never say never.’ Keep an eye out; live your life.”
Therefore, the decision could come out anytime soon but Anderson is not betting on it.
Robinson Is Taking Her Time
She is in a tough position because any decision she formulates will get staunch resistance.
That’s why Robinson is thoroughly reviewing the arguments of both sides to come up with a fair decision.
The verdict might possibly come before or during the Browns’ training camp.
That way, Watson’s camp will have time to appeal the decision if it doesn’t go their way.
