The Cleveland Browns received some great news after defensive end Myles Garrett became the latest member of Madden NFL 23’s 99 Club.
He joined All-Pro wideout Davante Adams who was surprised with a 99 Club trophy and gold chain by Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.
Meanwhile, Garrett received his 99 Club kit from all-time sacks leader and Hall of Famer Bruce Smith.
Getting a 99 rating means that he is one of the top players in the league.
Likewise, that near-perfect mark makes him the best edge rusher in said video game.

Pro Football Focus writer Ari Meirov shared the top ten edge rushers in the game based on their overall ratings.
Garrett tops the list at 99 while reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt is second at 96.
Completing the top five are Nick Bosa (94), Von Miller (92), and Khalil Mack (92).
Also on the list are Joey Bosa (91), Cameron Jordan (91), Demarcus Lawrence (90), Chandler Jones (90), and Rashan Gary (89).
Madden developers come up with these rankings based on several attributes like speed, strength, and awareness, to name a few.
Should Garrett Be In Front Of Watt?
Some football fans would argue that Watt should be the top edge rusher after tying Michael Strahan‘s record for most sacks in a single season with 22.5.
However, Garrett looks to be the better player based on overall skills.
The Browns defensive end is fast enough to cover passing routes and strong enough to plug the gaps during run plays.
Meanwhile, Watt’s run defense needs improvement.
It also helps to have Cam Heyward upfront because he can attract the attention of multiple defenders.
As Heyward keeps offensive linemen preoccupied, Watt gets a clear path at the opposing quarterback.
It’s a valid argument that somewhat justifies the Madden NFL 23 rankings.
As for Garrett and Watt, they will prove on the field that their ratings are no fluke.
